TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia’s men’s singles shuttler Anthony Ginting has won Korea Open Super Series title after beating his countryman Jonatan Christie in the final at SK Handball Stadium, Seoul, yesterday.
Anthony Ginting finished the game within 68 minutes by 21-13, 19-21, 22-20.
Ginting said he was elated for claiming his first Super Series title.
“I have defeated top seeds as well, meaning that my achievement was not due to good luck,” he said, adding that he had work hard to win the title.
Runner-up Jonatan said that he is grateful for his achievement, adding that he was unlucky in the final.
As such, both players have taken a win a piece in two competitive matches played between them. Jonatan came up victorious in their previous encounter in Malaysia Open 2017.
In Korea Open 2017, Indonesia brought home two titles via Anthony Ginting and mixed doubles Praveen Jordan and Debby Susanto. Meanwhile, men’s doubles shuttlers Marcus Gideon and Kevin Sanjaya secured a runners-up medal.
